“
Peace comes more from understanding, than agreement.”
Once a meeting place for world leaders and heads of state, this ‘Palace of Peace’ had been left a ruin following the brutal Iraq invasion of Kuwait in 1990. Studio MB were commissioned to design a new Museum within the interiors of this former Royal Palace. Working in conjunction with Kuwait architects, Studio MB set about imagining how the narrative of a nation could be mapped within the various apartments.
The completely reimagined Al Salam Palace Museum delivers two immersive visitor experiences, as well as a suite of temporary exhibition galleries, underground courtyard, café, shop, staff offices, digital library and education centre.
