An honest tale speeds best, being plainly told”

Not sure we told this story plainly, but certainly honestly. Following the discovery of Richard III’s remains, Leicester City Council set out to create a world class visitor centre to act as a cultural hub and learning resource worthy of the magnitude of the story being told.

With so many opposing opinions from vested, and some times vexed sides, finding a narrative balance and mapping this into the interior spaces was key to the success of this project.

Ground floor displays explored the events of Richard’s short reign and how his actions, both good and bad, still resonate today. Second floor displays examined the amazing events that lead to the discovery of Richard’s remains, and the science used to prove the body found was the lost King.

What’s the story...

This is a story of dynasty, death and discovery. It’s also both an archaeological and human narrative, where history is retold and personal endeavour rewarded.”

What the client said...

What we have got here far exceeds any of my hopes and expectations. Astonishingly imaginative work by some very creative people who have used modern technology to take the history and treat it very faithfully and treat it in a way that is accessible to us in the 21st century.”
