New Project
New Project - Exeter Cathedral
Exeter Cathedral
Studio MB are pleased to have been awarded a project by new client Exeter Cathedral to create a new welcome to the historic building and site. Located at the heart of the city, the Cathedral is Exeter’s most iconic building and one of its top visitor attractions and also place of worship.
Exeter Cathedral’s history reaches as far back as 1050 and housed within it are treasures that include some extraordinary, globally significant treasures such as the Exon Domesday, the Exeter Book, the Eliot Indian Bible and a collection of extraordinary medieval wax votive offerings. It also holds all records of the Cathedral including Edward the Confessor’s foundation charter and fabric rolls and Shakespeare’s second folio.
The project includes a permanent interpretation scheme for the approach to the Cathedral; the Cathedral interior including the new Cloister and Chapter House; and an exhibition of treasures in the Pearson Gallery.
It is an honour for our team to become part of its intriguing story and to encourage and enable visitors and worshippers to connect to the building in relevant, stimulating and engaging ways.
